Programs
Understanding the Passport Program
The Passport Program provides funding to adults with developmental disabilities to support community participation, daily living activities, person-directed planning, and caregiver respite, helping individuals live independently while ensuring families receive necessary support.
Connecting with DSO in Our Region
Developmental Services Ontario (DSO) is the access point for MCCSS-funded adult developmental services in Ontario, with Community Living Trent Highlands connecting to the Central East Region Office, which helps eligible individuals access support programs.
Families Are Strong–Networking and Social Media for Families
Families Are Strong is a support program that provides parents and caregivers of individuals with developmental disabilities with a private Facebook group, resources, and community events to connect, learn, and support one another.
Adult Services Eligibility
To apply for adult developmental services, funded by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS) you will need to prove that you have a developmental disability, live in Ontario, and are 18 years old.
Respite Now
Respite Now is a free mobile app that matches people of all ages looking for respite services with local respite workers in Haliburton, Kawartha Lakes, Peterborough, and Northumberland counties. Both caregivers and respite workers can use the app. The app matches people’s support needs and preferences with appropriate respite workers based on skills, credentials, experiences, and availability. Caregivers and people-supported review matches, choose the respite worker they wish to hire and pay the worker directly.
