Programs
Building Bridges
The Building Bridges program helps young people in school (14 to 21 years of age) living with a developmental disability to plan for the transition from high school to life in their community after graduation.
Early Learning Resource Program
The Early Learning Resource Program offers services to children in licensed home and centre-based programs, recognized recreation programs and Early ON Child & Family Centres. These services are available for children, families, educators and community agencies.
Early Learning Quality Initiative
The Early Learning Quality Initiative (ELQI) promotes professional development and high-quality early learning programs within the Kawartha Lakes and County of Haliburton.
Family Support
The Family Support program helps the families of children and young people who live with a developmental disability. Family Support works with families to ensure that each child maximizes learning, develops friendships and is part of the life of their school and community. Support is geared to helping to increase and strengthen the capacity of families. From birth to 18 years of age, specific focus is given to the transitions from childhood to adolescence, and adolescence to adulthood and independence.
Foundations
Through Foundations we help young people (aged 21 to 28 years) who live with a developmental disability transition from high school to living on their own. The program is designed to assist young people with their independence and to build life skills.
Respite Now
Respite Now is a free mobile app that matches people of all ages looking for respite services with local respite workers in Haliburton, Kawartha Lakes, Peterborough, and Northumberland counties. Both caregivers and respite workers can use the app. The app matches people’s support needs and preferences with appropriate respite workers based on skills, credentials, experiences, and availability. Caregivers and people supported review matches, choose the respite worker they wish to hire, and pay the worker directly.
