The Early Learning Quality Initiative
The Early Learning Quality Initiative (ELQI) promotes professional development and high-quality early learning programs within the Kawartha Lakes and County of Haliburton. We offer a variety of professional development and learning opportunities to our early learning community. ELQI staff are available to meet with early learning professionals individually or in teams to support the quality of early learning programs.
ELQI opportunities and services are available to all educators and staff working within the early learning community, which includes those from:
- Licensed childcare (both home-and centre-based) *
- EarlyON
- Authorized recreation programs
- Special needs resourcing
*Unlicensed providers are also welcome to join in most opportunities offered although there may be a minimal fee associated with some.

For more information about the Early Learning Quality Initiative Program, please call the Lindsay Office at (705) 328-0464. Community partner agencies may contact us to refer a child and their family. However, families are also encouraged to reach out directly if they would like more information about this service.
